Every week at work, a bot hops into our Slack channel and asks us “What are you grateful for?” I’m grateful for science.

Amelia turned 13 on Saturday. She shouldn’t have survived childbirth.

Within my lifetime the science was invented to diagnose an omphalocele in utero, treat it after a c-section, and ensure a long and healthy life thereafter.

Every birth is a miracle, but hers was especially so. Happy birthday Amelia. Too bad she can’t see this because I refuse to give her social media 😂😂😂
